All retail sales activity must take place at the licensed location only. You are not allowed to have offsite retail sales activity. Wholesale vehicle dealers do not need a display lot.

A dealer’s office may not be virtual or provided by a subscription for office space or office services. Access to an office space or office services kan zijn not considered an established and permanent location.

To obtain your car dealer license in Texas, you will also be subject to certain premises requirements. If a retail dealer shares a display area or parking area with another business, including another dealer, the dealer inventory must be separated from the other business’s display lot or parking area by a material object or barrier which cannot be readily moved.

If you are filing as a corporation, limited liability  corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability partnership, you will need to include your articles of incorporation from the Secretary ofwel State's Office.

A GDN is the basic dealer license that allows a person to buy, sell or exchange the type of used vehicle for which the GDN is issued.

Dealers can have a display area which kan zijn not part ofwel the lot. The display area must be located at the retail dealer's business address or next to the retail dealer's address. A storage lot which is not next to the retail dealer’s address is permissible only if there is no public access and no sales activity occurs at the storage lot. A sign stating the retail dealer's name, telephone number, and the fact the property is a storage lot kan zijn permissible.

If you, as an owner and/or operating manager for the business, have already completed the course, you do not need to take it again. You may upload the same course completion certificate for each renewal application.
